What goes under a fiberglass pool?Using 3/4" clean stone as the base and backfill for fiberglass pools is the superior choice due to its excellent drainage, stability, and compaction properties. Unlike sand or other materials, clean stone prevents shifting and settling over time, ensuring long-term structural integrity. Its free-draining nature also helps manage groundwater, reducing the risk of pool movement and maintaining a solid foundation for years to come.

Can I install my own fiberglass pool?We do not recommend that homeowners install their own inground pools. There are many factors that go into installing a fiberglass pool that require professionals to complete, such as excavating, crane setting, plumbing, and more. If fiberglass pools are not installed properly, they can quickly become costly issues.

Do I need a fence around my pool?Pool barrier requirements vary depending on your local municipality. While the Michigan state pool code permits the use of automatic pool safety covers in place of fencing, some cities, townships, or counties may enforce additional regulations. These can include mandatory fencing at least 48 inches high with self-latching gate hardware, as well as alarms on doors leading to the pool area. We recommend consulting your local building authority to ensure your vision aligns with the specific codes and requirements of your area.
